Our client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join their talented, motivated team. If you are a skilled
IT professional with 3 - 5 years of field consulting experience eager to master emerging technologies and who loves providing customers with a great experience, we want to hear from you.
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting managed-service and break-fix clients; both remotely and on-site. In addition, you will evaluate, design and implement technology solutions that support our clients and let them sleep at night. The role will require you to manage
projects and provide technical assistance to other team members as well. You will be an expert in at least two technology disciplines and you will embrace this because you love to learn, maintain your certifications, and stay on top of technical trends. The "cobbler must have also have good shoes" so you
will also administer our own internal network and test labs.
You go the extra mile and always find a better way. You have a unique blend of being both a technical whiz and also a people person. As a consultant, we expect you to "own it" by taking
ownership of your work.
Main Responsibilities:
You will resolve remote and on-site client support issues
You will conduct network audits and prepare reports with recommendations
You will design, implement and support the following technologies in a single, multi-site or
enterprise environment;
- Network WAN / LAN solutions (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls)
- SAN or other storage solutions
- Enterprise-level wireless solutions
- Virtualization technologies: Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware and / or Citrix
- Microsoft technologies: Windows Server / Desktop, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.
- Remote access solutions: IPSec & SSL VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
You will administer and maintain remote monitoring and management systems
You will create network documentation for clients
You will use ConnectWise PSA to manage client support tickets and projects
You will create and document processes and procedures that other team members can use and
learn from
You will design and administer Netcetera's internal IT systems
You will assist our sales team with demonstrations and proposals to help us win more business
You will attend monthly "Tech Breakfast Meetings" where everyone contributes to innovative and
interesting ideas and yes, we include breakfast
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
3-5 years consulting experience providing server and networking support in a Microsoft
environment.
Certifications and experience:
- Microsoft Server Virtualization Guru: Windows Desktop, Server, Office, Exchange,
SQL, Hyper-V, Office 365, and SharePoint
- Networking: Cisco CCNA or HP Networking - AIS Network Infrastructure
- Wireless: CWNA or Wireless Vendor Certification
- Security: Sonicwall UTM and SSL VPN Solutions
Previous experience with Sophos EndPoint, Dell EqualLogic, SonicWALL, Aruba Networks, DELL
Servers, HP Networking, Datto BDR, and various cloud technologies is an asset
Relevant Post-secondary diploma or degree.
Detail oriented and methodical with a flair for creative, "outside the box" problem solving.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
Passion for technology AND people.
Equally comfortable working with CEOs and junior staff.
Friendly, positive and caring personality with outstanding communication skills.
Self-starter who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment.
Able to record work accurately and without grammatical errors.
Disciplined to use quiet time for self-education or to assist others with their work.
Willingness to work after hours or on a weekend when required.
Clean drivers abstract and a reliable, newer model vehicle.
