Task Overview
Candidate will be responsible for the copy editing, word processing, and production of Training and Tutorial documentation in preparation for our upcoming software release cycle.


Candidate will be working closely with our Professional Services team, who will provide much of the new content. Required to edit or reframe the content as required, and work it into the structure of existing training material and/or tutorials.  Also be required to install and run our software to set up examples as needed and take screen captures.

Candidate should be prepared to interview product developers and oversee preparation of graphics for inclusion in the manuals. Other responsibilities may include:

·         correcting grammar and spelling
·         formatting content within existing framework
·         checking new content and raising queries with the author if required
·         checking screen captures in context with the surrounding text, or comparing screen captures with a newer version of our software

Teamwork
Candidate must have a proven ability to interact diplomatically with team members and managers. Have strong organizational skills and be able to balance priorities and workload in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to coordinate review cycles and incorporate review comments. Must be able to work independently with very little supervision.

Skills
Candidate will be working in a PC-based environment using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Must have expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and be familiar with using hidden text to produce different versions of manuals. Candidate will be asked to verify proficiency in these programs.  In addition, candidate may be asked to update training video examples/demos using Camtasia Studio.

If candidate has had experience in the GIS industry, this will be a definite asset, as will previous work experience in a technical publications or training environment.
