SENIOR TEST DEVELOPER / QA ENGINEER
Vancouver, BC 75 - 95K We are conducting a search for a Senior QA Engineer on behalf of our client located in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Director, Software Quality, the Senior QA Engineer will work as a senior member of a team with responsibilities in quality working one on one with the Development resources. As an experienced QA Engineer, this individual will be active in applying software quality engineering activities with respect to our client's enterprise software offering. The position requires functional test design and planning, operation of open source and proprietary test automation tools, detailed staging of complex distributed test scenarios, and work with on-site as well as offshore development and quality team members. RESPONSIBILITIES • Designs and configures test environments to achieve solid testing. • Develops and maintains test assets from requirements including test matrices, test strategies, test cases/plans. • Executes tests and works closely with Lead Quality Engineer and development team to resolve system and product issues. • Participates in using, maintaining, and extending tools necessary for functional testing, defect tracking, risk analysis and coordination. • Active in improving/expanding test automation and product quality. • Stages test situations to better understand situations reported from the field. QUALIFICATIONS • 5+ years experience in enterprise-level commercial software environment. • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of SQE principles and practices including test planning, test strategy, test matrix design in a fast paced/rapidturn/ process light environment. • Must have exposure to non-commercial, open source test tools/suites/frameworks such as HttpUnit, HTMLUnit, JUnit, Jmeter, etc. (Please note that heavy experience with commercial test tools such as WinRunner, LoadRunner, Quick Test Pro, etc. is NOT ideal) • Must have ability to read/write Java code in support of developing test automation and suites. • Must have exposure to setup, configuration and usage of various environments including Windows and Linux. • Must have previous experience as an SQE working on all aspects of testing hosted multi-tiered web applications including functional, stress/performance, and deployment. • Experience in an agile, iterative, RUP or XP environment is an asset • Experience with Microsoft ADFS v2, WCF, WIF frameworks an asset • Ability to work in complex setups and configurations - configuration and troubleshooting of web/application servers and/or IT Networking in combination with quality engineering skills has proven very effective * Bachelor of Science or Equivalent Interested candidates please forward your resume in MS Word format, including bullet points that demonstrate your personal results/contributions and major accomplishments to jobs@key2resources.com.
